Young girls are the victims of the circumstances of patriarchy and the social pressures of sexism. They are influenced by a false definition of femininity and image of what it means to be feminine. Their true feminine identity is camouflaged by the interest of male dominance and support of masculine privilege. The characteristics of sexy and beautiful monopolize the mind of young girls as mandatory attributes of respect, recognition and acceptance. They are seriously deprived of the proper cultivation needed to survive our dehumanizing culture with human dignity as females. Young girls are trapped in a sexist society that lures them into sexual activity as a means of economics or manipulation of emotional desire. A large portion of these young teenagers have very little, if no sexual education whatsoever, and most likely ends up conceiving a child. Pregnancy burdens their life with responsibility that either cancels their dream or put it on long term hold. It also alters their lifestyle drastically. Majority of young mothers are sentenced to poverty and problematic relationships for the rest of their lives.

Project Fresh Start is a maternity program specially designed to help young teenage mothers handle their responsibility as parents and give them the adequate support that will allow them to complete their education and qualify to achieve worthwhile employment and a standard of living comparable of raising a child.

Project Fresh Start will target young mothers between the ages of 13 and 15 years old. We will administer a program that provides nutritional meals and adequate housing for young mothers and their children. We will also provide vocational training; day care services; health care; exercise and recreation; social activity, and wholesome entertainment.

The objectives of the program are to cultivate intelligent decision making on behalf of the mothers for themselves and their children; to help them develop self-worth, self-respect and self-esteem; to assist them in achieving independent living through adequate employment, and to encourage them to live a responsible, intelligent and wholesome life for the sake of raising their children successfully.
